THERE'S BEEN A DEATH IN THE OPPOSITE HOUSE

well well well ... i dropped by tj's blog and noticed that there was this fella under the name of lex cumi or sumthin who dropped a comment under tj's si tandas post ... there the commenter commented on tj's modification of the poem si tenggang's homecoming , and asked if tj would do one on death in the opposite house and/or sonnet 18 .

well im free rite now ... so wat the hell , i searched around my room n found the form 4 poem book n flipped to page 9 ... started typing it out as i read it through and modified it as i progressed . job completed after 10 minutes of hard work XD

There's been a death in the opposite house
As lately as today.
I know it by the dumb look
such houses have always.

The neighbors rustle in and out,
The doctor laughs away.
A widow points at the house,
And giggles like a gay.

Somebody flings a mattress out,-
And it hit the children down below;
They wonder if they would die from the impact,-
I used to when a boy.

The minister goes proudly in
As if the house was his,
God damn him and his arrogance,
He deserves to die as well.

And then the milliner, and the man
Of the appalling trade,
Took measure of the house,
And left the place with wallets full .

There'll be that dark parade,
Of tassels and of coaches soon;
Where people would celebrate,
And devour the body of the dead.
